Enhancing the Energy Efficiency of Businesses in France
The SOFIAC, an innovative concept by Econoler and Fondaction to enhance the energy efficiency of businesses, is taking off in France with a 60 million euros investment to accelerate the decarbonization of buildings and the industrial sector in the country.
This significant investment will replicate the success of SOFIAC in Canada. SOFIAC specializes in the development and management of major decarbonization and energy renovation projects for businesses in the tertiary and industrial sectors, while also acting as an investor.
The largest initiative in energy efficiency and decarbonization for the private sector in France
Thanks to this investment from Mirova, ADEME Investissement, and Fondaction, SOFIAC becomes the largest initiative in energy efficiency and decarbonization for the private sector in France. It will enable companies to reduce their energy costs, achieve their greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction goals, and increase their profitability in the short, medium, and long term without requiring financial contributions from them.
Currently, building operations account for 18% of GHG at the national level and 47% of France’s annual energy consumption. Furthermore, France has set an ambitious target of a 35% reduction in GHG emissions by 2030 for the industrial sector.
