Secondary Green Cities Development Project – Street Lighting System Advisor

Ha Giang is a province in northeastern Vietnam and its provincial capital is also called Ha Giang. This province received a grant from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) in support of the province’s sustainable development. ADB is the grant administrator for the province. Econoler was hired to assist with developing and implementing sustainable, energy-efficient public lighting by helping the provincial capital with implementing the energy-efficient upgrade of all the public lighting in the city.

In this project, Econoler has been hired to carry out the following tasks:

• Reviewing the lighting survey conducted by the local contractor.
• Developing specifications for energy-efficient lighting for the whole provincial capital and the province.
• Supporting the province in procuring and installing energy-efficient lighting equipment, including helping review the bids received and recommending the equipment and contractors to be selected.
• Inspect and report on the work completed. Measure and verify the works.
• Measuring and verifying energy and monetary savings achieved.
• Reporting on the results.

  Once completed, the project will be promoted and publicized as an example of the sustainable energy-efficient development effort appropriately adapted to the local needs.
