Review of IFC's EDGE App for Retrofits

Under a building retrofit study conducted for the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Econoler conducted a review of IFC’s EDGE App for Retrofits used to assess the energy consumption of green buildings and provide recommendations on how to adapt and improve the software for Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines. Proposed improvements related to cost assumptions, modelling methods, energy savings, and GHG emission reduction calculations as well as to new energy efficiency and renewable energy measures that could be integrated into the software. 

Econoler conducted a review of the EDGE App and provided recommendations on how to improve the software for the three countries. Under the mandate, Econoler is carried out the following tasks:

• Define new energy efficiency and renewable energy measures that could be integrated into the software.
• Propose improvements relating to cost assumptions, modelling methods, as well as energy savings and GHG emission reduction calculations.

The work helped IFC improve the software for commercial buildings including hotels, offices, retail malls, educational buildings, hospitals, and warehouses.
