FinEERGo-Dom (Financing Scheme for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Guaranteed in Deep Renovation of the Building Stock) was an EU-funded Horizon 2020 project. This 4.5-year project was led by a consortium of partners from seven countries.
The project objectives were to refine and implement forfeiting financing schemes for ESCOs to support energy efficiency and renewable energy in deep building renovations across five EU countries. The concept was developed based on the Latvian Energy Efficiency Facility (LABEEF), a financial scheme supporting energy efficiency and renewable energy in deep renovations of public and private buildings, which was successfully implemented in Latvia. The FinEERGo-Dom team worked with stakeholders from the public, financial, and residential sectors to replicate the successful LABEEF financing mechanism across the region.
Econoler led the project Work Package 6 (WP 6) – Dissemination and Exploitation of Project Results. In addition, Econoler actively participated in all the other WPs and carried out the following tasks:
-
Prepared the communication and dissemination plan as well as the marketing materials promoting project visibility and identification;
-
Developed the appropriate communication channels to reach out to various stakeholder groups;
-
Disseminated information through stakeholder groups by holding national events, training workshops, and general awareness-raising campaigns;
-
Developed training materials for all stakeholder groups in participating countries and delivered training to stakeholders in Bulgaria;
-
Analyzed Bulgaria’s legislative framework related to EE financing to help ensure the flawless implementation of the financial model;
-
Adapted existing LABEEF financing scheme documentation (energy performance contracts, forfeiting agreements, investment guidelines, etc.) to meet the specific needs of the other countries involved in this project;
-
Adapted the measurement and verification methodology to be used for projects in Bulgaria;
-
Analyzed the economic and technical potential for investments in EE renovation of multi-family residential and public buildings in Bulgaria;
-
Identified potential pilot projects and supported the initial project development process;
-
Adapted the Bulgarian Resilience and Recovery Facility (i.e. the national post-COVID recovery program) to be compatible with the FinEERGo-Dom mechanism.
Econoler cooperated with several international partners to improve the structure of the existing LABEEF financing mechanism for supporting deep EE renovation of buildings and to adapt the scheme to meet the needs of the Bulgarian market. Relying on its extensive experience with implementing EU-funded projects, Econoler took the lead in developing the overall marketing and visibility strategy and materials for this Horizon 2020 project.
