The Government of Anguilla received funding from the European Union and Expertise France to support its climate change mitigation activities through the international program known as RESEMBID- the Resilience, Sustainable Energy, and Marine Biodiversity Programme. Under the government’s Anguilla Renewable Energy Programme (AREP), Econoler was mandated to provide energy sector capacity building toward Anguilla’s sustainable energy transition.
Econoler delivered on-line and in-person training on the following topics:

Introduction to energy efficiency (1 day, in person);

Energy auditing (4 days, in person);

Solar photovoltaic installation (introduction and advanced, 5 days in person);

Renewable energy regulation and integration (1 day, in person);

Microfinance products (1 day, on-line);

Introduction to renewable energy financing (1 day, on-line)

Advanced training on renewable energy financing (1 day, on-line);
Participants included staff from the Department of Natural Resources, Department of Infrastructure, Ministry of Infrastructure & Public Utilities Commission, Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, ANGLEC and other utilities, Community ollege Students, Finance and Insurance Institutions, Ministry of Finance as well as local contractors and financing institutions.
The training was intended to increase the capacities of project beneficiaries in renewable energy and energy efficiency to increase the impact and growth of such services in Anguilla. The training materials developed under this consultancy were adopted by the local tertiary institution and government entities for continued capacity building.
