project description

Eurovent Certitia (Eurovent) certifies the performance ratings of air-conditioning and refrigeration products according to European and international standards. Eurovent aims to build customer confidence by levelling the competitive playing field for all manufacturers and by increasing the integrity and accuracy of industrial performance ratings. The use of third-party equipment performance certifications increases the quality of measured and verified energy savings generated by retrofit or new projects that are based on energy efficiency design. Unfortunately, the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP), developed by the Efficiency Valuation Organization (EVO), and its related documents do not address these design aspects.

highlights

Econoler was mandated by EVO to: (1) develop a document to become part of IPMVP application guidelines that both demonstrate the contribution of equipment standards to savings measurement and verification activities and provide guidance on how to develop and implement such standards; and (2) evaluate the Eurovent certification process to validate conformity with EVO guidelines.

Econoler not only helped develop a new IPMVP document that significantly supports professionals and certification firms in effectively enforcing certification procedures for specific equipment, but also helped Eurovent to improve its procedures and strengthen customer confidence by increasing the integrity and accuracy of industrial performance ratings.
