OCDE Report

In October, the OECD published its report Environmental Lending in EU Eastern Partnership Countries. The report gives an overview of the main environment-related credit lines extended by financing institutions and disbursed through local commercial banks in the European Union’s Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine). The report is part of a broader program, aimed at promoting access to private finance for green investments, that was implemented with EU financial support through the “Greening Economies in the European Union’s Eastern Neighbourhood” (EaP GREEN) program to assist those six countries in their transition towards greening economic development.

Econoler’s contribution was to provide experience-based substantive comments on the report’s early drafts. The comments were mainly related to conceptual and policy issues raised in the report, the accuracy of the analysis and the interpretation of the facts.
