Econoler undertakes two new projects in mitigation and adaptation to climate change in French-speaking West African countries (ECOWAS)

Econoler is pleased to announce that the firm is undertaking two major new projects in French-speaking West African countries. Both projects are aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to the impacts of climate change:

  • The first with the Government of Quebec under the auspices of the International Climate Cooperation Program (CICP), to accelerate the development of an energy efficiency market in the industrial sector of the Economic Community of African States of the West (ECOWAS).
  • The second with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) in collaboration with African researchers, to conduct an analysis of EE policy decisions to achieve energy justice for women in Sub-Saharan Africa.

These projects address the challenges of ECOWAS countries, since the region’s energy system faces the interrelated issues of energy access, energy security, as well as mitigation of and adaptation to climate change (source: ECOWAS EE Policy).
